After even 7 years from their 5th album, the "Turkish kings of brutal death metal" Cenotaph are finally back with their new full-lenght! Titled "Perverse Dehumanized Dysfunctions", I received it 5 months ago by Enis of Hammer Müzik, the label responsible of its release. So, let's start already with the review without other useless words!

"Perverse Dehumanized Dysfunctions" lasts only 31 minutes circa per 8 tracks, a very reasonable lenght for a sonic martyrium that consists of a neurotic brutal death metal in which every musician, with their excellent technical skills, have a good relevance. So, the singer Batu Çetin (that formed the band in the now far 1994) vomit a vile series of repugnant vocals and he is sometimes helped by the guitarist Erkin Öztürk, always on fire with his squealing and crazy riffs but rejecting, in every way, to play some guitar solos, here completely absent as happened often in this particular genre. Instead, the session Russian bassplayer Anton Zhikharev (in fact, you have to know that this album was recorded, mixed and mastered at the DTH Studios of Moscow) has a very good room into the sound of the band, and you can hear every note played by him thanks to an amazing production (he plays also in Back Door to Asylum or Fleshbomb, all brutal death metal acts). And then, there is the drummer Alican Erbaş, literally uncontrollable with his fast(er) tempos and his expressive fills but being able also to vary this no compromise massacre with some slower and even groovy passagges.

Now, among the songs, I would like to mention "Syndromes of Deadly Endogenous Intoxication" with its totally delirious slowdown, "Disembodied Unborn Species" with its obsessive and paranoid final moments with many rhythmic variations by the drummer, or the titletrack, that concludes the album with some hidden arpeggios. BUT we haven't to forget also "Antagony of Embriotomia", a mid-tempo song with a slow(er) and very particular end.
These are Cenotaph of "Perverse Dehumanized Dysfunctions": devastating and surgical numbers, interesting arrangements, a good variety, and a little bit sick atmosphere, as it should always be in this kind of genre. And we are talking about a band very active concerning the live gigs since they play everywhere. To say the least, they recently ended their tour related to their new album playing, from 25th August to 17th September, in countries like Macedonia, Bulgaria, Austria, Netherlands and Germany (but not in Italy, unfortunately). Now, you have to know that Cenotaph will play in Greece in occasion of the Brutality Over Sanity Deathfest VI along with bands like the Italians Corpsefucking Art, the French maniacs Mercyless and so on.
